Purple @ 31

Dear Elisha and Meimei, Meimei, this picture was taken on my 31st birthday last 2008. You’re 4 months in my tummy so this is my first birthday with you if I may say, hihi.  And of course, I’m wearing my favorite color And look at you EJ… you and papa gave me what we call the samwits kiss… Oh how I love this happy family kiss that we always share, usually at bedtime but done anytime we feel like it  We each take turn to be in the middle and it’s so much fun doing it that you sometimes would like to have 2 turns And since we were in China at that time, we just had a simple celebration with our “family” away from home – Auntie Imee, Auntie Cathy and Uncle Jon. Auntie Cindy wasn’t able to come so we missed her that night.  These friends have been … Continue reading

Night Schedule Revised

My previous blog about our life here in China entitled DAYS OF OUR WEEK,  I mentioned that we have different bedtime schedule and that defines who sleeps with who and in which room. After a month, we decided to have them changed due to factors like school is about to open and EJ has to sleep early, the bed is too small to fit the 4 of us (that’s because Joey gets half the space and the 3 of us share the other half!), and if super tired, my ears cannot tolerate Joey and EJ snoring at the same time! So we, EJ and I, did a draft one afternoon and had his papa approved it. So here’s the revised schedule: Monday and Tuesday – Meimei with Mama and Papa ; EJ in his room Wednesday – Papa’s night off (would you believe that! he has his OWN night off! … Continue reading

Days of Our Week

It’s officially our one week and a few hours stay here in China so allow me to share with you how things were. As many of you know, yaya Angel is here with us so we divided the work loads. She took charge cleaning almost all the dusty areas because i’m extraordinarily allergic to dust. When she’s done cleaning, I do the arranging or re-arranging. I did all the cooking for lunch and dinner. From the grocery, preparations and cooking itself. Beakfast is simple – bread, cereal, milk or fruit. We take turns in taking care of the kids and washing the clothes. The ironing we leave to Ayi, our local helper who works only on Sundays. We maintain her just so we have someone to contact incase we need some stuff that are not available in the market and of course, my ever supportive hubby wants me to have … Continue reading

1 Month to GO!

If you’re part of the family and close friends, you know that the kids and I have been in Bacolod since Chinese New Year last year. So that’s more than a year of “away” from my hubby and their papa Joey. Literally speaking, it’s 1 month to go… that is, 1 month to GO to China. The thought of leaving gives me mixed emotions – happy and sad at the same time. HAPPY TO GO – mainly because our family will be together day in and day out. My husband will definitely enjoy time with our kids, especially time with his little princess, as it is Meimei’s first time to join us there. Sure enough he’s also looking forward to coming home, sleep, and wake up with his lovely wife beside him (*wink*). The kids will take pleasure in the strong arms of their dad when he carries them. Oh … Continue reading

CHRISTMAS IN CHINA

Dear Elisha, I was browsing through some of our pictures in China when I saw our Christmas 2008 photos. OUR Christmas means including Meimei because she was already in my tummy. I bet she felt the joy and heard the laughter those evenings we had our Christmas parties with friends and with our OFW families in Jiaxing :) Not to mention dancing to the beat of the happy songs! To let you see the different events that took place in the different parties we went to, here are some of the pictures and a little description of what transpired. FOREIGNERS CHRISTMAS PARTY Every year, Speedy Tech (IMI-Jiaxing) sends representatives to this event and last year, your papa was chosen to represent the company in this gathering. The picture contains those who were seated with us that night as well as some of the special numbers presented to entertain the guests. After dinner, we went to Starbucks to meet … Continue reading

GO BACK OR STAY?

SHE WRITES:I’ve been gone for several days and haven’t really been in the loop for sometime already. That’s because my son’s cough has been on and off for almost a month, but this week, it was at its peak. I’ve tried what I know to help him cope with the coldness and dryness of winter, but I think I’ve fallen short. They say it’s normal here for his age to get sick at this time of the year but I don’t like it. It makes me worry because he has just recovered from a mild primary complex, which he developed last winter too. His lung is very fragile at this time and frequent attacks of cough and cold might do so much harm. With this, I am faced with a dilemma… If we go back to the Philippines now, EJ and his papa will have a long time of separation. … Continue reading

DO YOU LIKE WINTER?

SHE WRITES: I’ll go straight to the point, I dread winter =( It’s too cold for me. Taking a bath / shower is a struggle, really! And to think of the time we use putting on tons of lotion and moisturizers to keep our skin hydrated. The layers of clothes we have to consider putting on myself and my son. I don’t know if it’s because I was raised in a country (The Philippines) with no winter feeling at all, or it’s really a dreaded season by most people. My son and I got sick because I think our bodies are adjusting to the super dry and extremely cold season. But to be fair to this time of the year, I’ll write 2 things I like in winter: 1. the SNOW – last winter was our first time to experience snow and I admit it was FUN playing with my … Continue reading
