This afternoon, my friend Ruby and I with my kids went to baby Je-An’s house to say goodbye and bless him before he leaves for Manila tomorrow night. Je-An and his mom, lolo and lola will travel to Manila by boat because his pedia cardiologist (Dr. Franco) won’t give him clearance to ride the airplane as it is too dangerous for his condition. They will leave Bacolod around 9pm tomorrow night and will be arriving Manila about 10pm Sunday night. Analyn, Je-An’s mom, has an uncle who drives a taxi will pick them up and bring them somewhere (they still don’t know where they can spend the night). Monday morning they’re hoping to be admitted in the Philippine Heart Center.
Initial estimates of Je-An’s expenses will reach at least P200,000 ( approx. $ 4,200) which covers for Pulmonary Artery Catether and Pulmonary Artery Banding. The family will leave Bacolod with a few thousand pesos in their pockets and hoping for the hospital’s charity institution to help them in their expenses. It is also a blessing that Clarisse, one of the founders of our colorectal parents yahoo group, is helping them out in processing their housing and hopefully financial aid from some organizations. Although these are still for approval, we are still grateful for her efforts. While we (with Cindy, Ruby and May) here in Bacolod are also raising funds for him in our own simple ways. We are believing for more donors and concerned citizens to help us give baby Je-An hope of a better life because every kiddo deserves that chance. To know how, please read my post HERE. We will be sending them money next week so if you have something to share, do let us know… a little something will go a long way when put together.
I’ve seen Je-An several times and it almost brought tears to my eyes that in spite his condition, for the very first time, I saw him smile – and even laugh, this afternoon. It was a non-stop smile but we had to force the fun end because he can’t have too much I know that I am gifted with children BUT nothing equaled to the blessing of seeing him so happy as I played with him and it made my heart leap for JOY! It was like he’s telling all of us not to worry because he’s gonna be fine… EJ lead us in a prayer for God’s healing for this charming little boy and as his words in his prayers were, “… THAT THE HOLE IN HIS HEART WILL BE NO MORE…”
Please pray for Je-An… Help in spreading the word to your friends and family. I am asking for your prayers for his lungs and heart to be well able to take the procedures that will be performed in the days to come.
Je-An, see you when you come home colorkiddo… May the Lord bless you and keep you safe, healthy and strong!
