Busy Hands Way Back Then…

The BUSY HANDS album in my Facebook account features activities of “busy-ness” of Meimei and EJ. But here I would like to write how the concept of BUSY HANDS started and when it started. I grew up with 4 brothers and 1 sister, so yeah, we are a large family In most of our growing years we’ve had helpers doing the house works but our parents, especially our dad, always wanted us to work with them. He didn’t want us to be spoiled brats who just litter our stuff around the house and let the house maids clean them. We were tasked to fix our rooms, wipe the windows, feed the dogs (and even clean their poopie!), wash our clothes and all the other house chores especially when the helpers took their day off on a Sunday. That way, even without helpers, life was normal and we didn’t have to … Continue reading →

BUSY HANDS

I have this album in Facebook that I entitled BUSY HANDS and currently I’m on my 3rd album, containing about 60 photos in each. I don’t want the viewers to wait for a long time while the pictures are loading that’s why I create a new one when I see 60 photos. I entitled the album BUSY HANDS mainly because I want to TRAIN my children in different areas of their lives – spiritually, financially, emotionally, mentally, psychologically, physically, artistically (oh how I love arts!) and all the other -ally’s that are there… where does COOKING come in? Physically I guess, haha. But as a mother, I believe it is my GOD-given responsibility to raise persons who are responsible, making a difference wherever they are, who will be a blessings to people around them and honor the name of their Maker. And your guess is right, we start training them … Continue reading →

Samsung 10.1 Over Ipad 2

I spent several nights and days checking on which is better, iPad 2 or Samsung 10.1. My cousin in law (Ivy) patiently went with me the other day so we can have our hands on these 2 gadgets. Finally yesterday, with my husband‘s approval, I got the Samsung 10.1 white. Unfortunately, the today I returned it to Samsung and they were so nice to give me back my money, full refund. The unit was wonderful, it felt really good to play & work with. However, Android Market, which is the apps center for android products, will only work properly with the Chinese version and not the English version… sigh. After 4 hours of trying to figure out how to configure my unit to work properly with the English apps version, the manager informed me that there’s nothing they can do as of the moment and advised me to buy my … Continue reading →

Long Time No Blog

I miss blogging… Although I have alot in my drafts, my last published entry was last July. After we came back from our family vacation in the Philippines, I was hoping to spend more time updating my blog because a cousin is here to help me take care of the kids. However, uploading pictures became super duper difficult. I’ve always had this problem considering we’re in China, but now it’s almost impossible to upload pictures in my blog post. That really made me sad and that’s why I’ve been really quiet. Not only in the blogosphere but also in Facebook. Waiting for the proxy to load takes so much time and almost always, I’ve waited in vain. Friends have sent me emails, ym’s and posted in my wall that I’ve been really quiet, haha… So I thought I’ll just write it here hoping they can think of visiting and read this post. Thanks to friends and … Continue reading →

Cloth Diapers

Since EJ was born, I’ve used cloth diapers from time to time to make sure his bum won’t have rashes. And it’s also a good thing to use for potty training to make the child aware that he is wet and that it feels uncomfortable. Now for Meimei we’re here in China and I’ve found something better than the cloth diapers I had back then with EJ. It has inserts which feels like a towel but tailored cut to fit the diaper perfectly. It has buttons so it can fit from small to large kids. It comes in different colors too! I use it when she’s sleeping in the afternoon and I’m really glad that twice last month she peed on it while sleeping and it didn’t leak. The moment she peed on it she woke up telling me, “Mama, I’m wet. I peed on my pants!” Usually I let … Continue reading →

I Thank…

I consider this as the relaunching of my blog SheWritesYouWrite, haha. As to why, probably I’ll write about it next time. But for now, allow me to thank my sister in law for my header! Yippeee! Doesn’t it look very pretty and feminine? You can visit poshpost and request her to do your header, badge or any digital designs. She does an excellent layout! Also, her birthday’s coming up so as another thank you, I’d like to showcase her blog about her loving motherhood moments with my niece Budin (actually her names Dindin but I just love calling her Budin). If you frequently visit her blog, I’m actually the “dichim”, hihi. Since we’re married to handsome Chinese men (wink), we carry on Chinese titles before our names. Posh is “A-em” in my blogs actually. Posh, I THANK you for organizing my wedding, haha, that was 8 years ago pa!
Color-coded Family Pics

Dear Elisha and Meimei, One of the traditions that your papa and I started when we reunited as a family in 2007 was our FAMILY PICTORIAL on special occassions. By reunited I am referring to living together under the same roof. As you know, I stayed in Bacolod from March 2005 – May 2007 while your pa worked in China. He went home once in 2005, twice in 2006 and in 2007 June 1, ahia and I moved to China with him. Since then, we took the time and spent extra for the studio pictorials. Oh well, I would always ask for it and your pa would willingly obey. Here’s our first studio pictorial taken on EJ’s 2nd birthday. NOTE: Take a look at Papa July 2007 The second was in 2008, still on ahia’s birthday. NOTE: Still, observe papa In 2009 we went back to Bacolod for Meimei’s … Continue reading →

Dress MEi Up!

Dear Meimei, The title of this post came from Diane’s suggestion. We haven’t met her in person yet, but she’s one of your FANS, haha So when I post your photos when I drew on your face, she suggested this title, which I think perfectly fits this blog as well. Here’s what I’ve written in my Facebook album description: All the photos in this album were taken in just 1 day (May 31)… and here’s the story: Meimei saw me “drawing” on my eyebrows and she also asked for me to draw on her face my original plan was to make her look FUNNY, like a clown or something… but then due to limited HYPO-ALLERGENIC MAKE-UP COLORS, it didn’t turn out the way I hoped… that’s why her EYEBROWS were “altered”… after my so-called DRAWING, I asked her if she wanted to put on my clothes and yes, she did! … Continue reading →

God’s Love

Dear Elisha, Even before you were born, your papa and I have always prayed for you. If there’s one thing we desire the most, it’s for you to grow up as a man who honors God above all. So since birth, I always made sure you grow up knowing God, His word and His love. A few weeks back as I was tidying up your drawings (checking which ones to throw and which ones to keep), which I usually do on a monthly basis, I saw this drawing that brought tears to my eyes… The moment I saw it I was reassured that giving up everything I gave up was and is all worth it, because you’re growing knowing what God’s Love is… and to your young mind this is what God’s Love means… After wiping my tears I called you and asked what your drawings mean, starting with this one and your … Continue reading →

QA #1: Leave the Kids or Bring a Nanny?

This coming summer vacation, we have plans of going on a tour in some of the tourist spots in the Philippines together with our friends. However, since I have 2 kids (going 6 and a little over 2 years old) I’m sure I will really be super duper tired, especially that we plan to visit 4-5 places in 12 days by AIR, LAND and SEA. My friends who’ve done this before have told me that I won’t probably call it a vacation since I will be overworked! So right now we have 2 options: 1. Leave the kids with my in-laws – my mother in-law offered her services and told me my little girl is too young to enjoy the vacation so might as well leave her with them. She suggests I bring only my boy. However, this will make me feel guilty and maybe my princess will feel “unfair” … Continue reading →

Daring and Sweet

Dear Meimei, Your papa and I have always seen you as both a daring and a sweet little girl. Even your Ama and Angkong who were only here for three weeks were so amazed by your no fear attempts to perform several tasks that were presented to you. And of course, your sweetness melted their hearts. It melts ours every passing day sweetie. We realized that your DARING trait could have come from your 1st 7 days spent in the hospital, which were hourly dose of injections due to tests and medication. And of course, you bravely faced your 3 major surgeries in the 1st 10 months of your life. Thank God for his protection that was ever available… Because of those experiences, we believe it made your brave enough to face life. Facing those kinds of pain at a very tender age made you aware that life isn’t easy … Continue reading →

8 Chocolaty Years

Dear Hubby, I wrote this poem for you at 1am while you and the kids were soundly asleep. I have my baby monitor on to make sure I hear you snore hihihi. ************************************************* 8 CHOCOLATY YEARS Our marriage is like a Super Moist Chocolate Cake Which takes a lot of time and effort to bake. Most ingredients are sweet but some are not Just like what happens daily since we tied the knot. There were times we cried ‘cause we hurt each other Oh that’s the the baking soda… and the flour Yet without them our cake won’t be complete So we need those ingredients even if they’re not sweet. Most of our days are like sugar, butter and of course, chocolates Times we laughed and giggled with our two little “KULITs” (kiddos) Times we would never trade for anything in this world Forever grateful, to Jesus, our Savior and … Continue reading →

HH#1: Photography

The very first time we had our digital camera was back in 2005. I was pregnant with our first born and hubby was about to leave for his first job in China. That meant we will be separated and inorder for us not to forget how we looked like, we invested some bucks to buy a digicam. From 2005 ’til the present, we have had 4 cameras – 2 Sonys and 2 Canons. In 2008, hubby decided to bring to the next level one of his hobbies, which is photography, so we decided to buy CANON EOS 1000D. Since then, taking pictures became more exciting! Although still considered as a beginner, well, he hasn’t really taken any lessons on photography, he has those “IT” shots that I am proud to showcase here in our blog. For this post, I’ll just cover nature photos, my portrait will be in the upcoming Hubby’s Hobbies posts, … Continue reading →

Me and My Doll

Dear Elisha, Last Jan. 31, 2010 you joined the Me and My Doll contest at the Robinsons Place Bacolod. The requirement was for each child to wear costumes of their favorite character – a doll or a superhero. Most of the girls were Princesses from different movies while most of the boys were action figures. Here you are together with the other contestants while waiting for the contest to start. Here are the Princesses in their lovely pink gowns. And of course, here you are my SPIDER BOY… And I think you should know this, YOU WON FIRST PLACE! haha… Just take a look at your picture and you’ll probably know why the judges thought you deserved to win. It brings a smile to my face looking at you son. It was actually your first time to join in a contest and glad you won. You didn’t have the most … Continue reading →

A Couples Delight Weekly Themes

I can only commit to update this blog on a weekly basis, so I decided to have a weekly theme, which I believe will allow me to focus. You may join me anytime you feel like it in any day of the week. To standardize, my week 1 starts on the first Sunday of the month. The last Sunday is also considered as the last week, thought it depends if it’s 4th or 5th week. I may have some middle of the week posts, if my blogging self likes it that is Should you join (I wish you would) in any of my themes (call it meme if it spreads), just grab that week’s badge and include in your post. It would also be nice to share your story with other couples and just as nice to read and learn from them. Thank you for coming and it is my desire … Continue reading →

A Couples Delight

I’m launching this blog, A Couples Delight, as an anniversary gift for my bestfriend since 1997, my boyfriend from 1998 – 2003, my husband for 8 years and my parenting partner since 2005. The man who bought dresses, skirts and sleeveless , made me comfortable wearing them and told me I looked beautiful in them. Someone who prayed with me and stayed with me in the worst times of my life. The guy who has very tiny eyes yet has very large perspective in life. Somebody who loves me the way I am, yet encourages me to be the best that I can be, in all aspects of my being, including but not limited to staying fit and beautiful, hihi. It puts pressure on me but it makes me feel good when people compliment what they see So I thank my hubby for all the years we’ve spent together, I can say I have … Continue reading →
