Dear Elisha and Meimei, One of the traditions that your papa and I started when we reunited as a family in 2007 was our FAMILY PICTORIAL on special occassions. By reunited I am referring to living together under the same roof. As you know, I stayed in Bacolod from March 2005 – May 2007 while your pa worked in China. He went home once in 2005, twice in 2006 and in 2007 June 1, ahia and I moved to China with him. Since then, we took the time and spent extra for the studio pictorials. Oh well, I would always ask for it and your pa would willingly obey. Here’s our first studio pictorial taken on EJ’s 2nd birthday. NOTE: Take a look at Papa July 2007 The second was in 2008, still on ahia’s birthday. NOTE: Still, observe papa In 2009 we went back to Bacolod for Meimei’s … Continue reading →

Dear Meimei, The title of this post came from Diane’s suggestion. We haven’t met her in person yet, but she’s one of your FANS, haha So when I post your photos when I drew on your face, she suggested this title, which I think perfectly fits this blog as well. Here’s what I’ve written in my Facebook album description: All the photos in this album were taken in just 1 day (May 31)… and here’s the story: Meimei saw me “drawing” on my eyebrows and she also asked for me to draw on her face my original plan was to make her look FUNNY, like a clown or something… but then due to limited HYPO-ALLERGENIC MAKE-UP COLORS, it didn’t turn out the way I hoped… that’s why her EYEBROWS were “altered”… after my so-called DRAWING, I asked her if she wanted to put on my clothes and yes, she did! … Continue reading →

Dear Elisha, Even before you were born, your papa and I have always prayed for you. If there’s one thing we desire the most, it’s for you to grow up as a man who honors God above all. So since birth, I always made sure you grow up knowing God, His word and His love. A few weeks back as I was tidying up your drawings (checking which ones to throw and which ones to keep), which I usually do on a monthly basis, I saw this drawing that brought tears to my eyes… The moment I saw it I was reassured that giving up everything I gave up was and is all worth it, because you’re growing knowing what God’s Love is… and to your young mind this is what God’s Love means… After wiping my tears I called you and asked what your drawings mean, starting with this one and your … Continue reading →

Dear Meimei, Your papa and I have always seen you as both a daring and a sweet little girl. Even your Ama and Angkong who were only here for three weeks were so amazed by your no fear attempts to perform several tasks that were presented to you. And of course, your sweetness melted their hearts. It melts ours every passing day sweetie. We realized that your DARING trait could have come from your 1st 7 days spent in the hospital, which were hourly dose of injections due to tests and medication. And of course, you bravely faced your 3 major surgeries in the 1st 10 months of your life. Thank God for his protection that was ever available… Because of those experiences, we believe it made your brave enough to face life. Facing those kinds of pain at a very tender age made you aware that life isn’t easy … Continue reading →

Dear Meimei, Your birthday month is April so for your 2-year old birthday, we decided to have a month long celebration which covered all the weekends of the month. Each weekend we had some fun activities or trips as you like going out very much! You would often ask us to “GO OUTSIDE”. You like the ourdoors very much. Here are some of the places that we visited. I’ll post your other photos next time because you’re already calling me to go outside and watch your favorite – Barbie. This time it’s Barbie Mariposa we’re watching. It’s the 10th DVD of your 18 DVDs Barbie Collection. Will blog about this next time. Love you! Mama

You’re 4 months in my tummy so this is my first birthday with you if I may say, hihi. And of course, I’m wearing my favorite color And look at you EJ… you and papa gave me what we call the samwits kiss… Oh how I love this happy family kiss that we always share, usually at bedtime but done anytime we feel like it We each take turn to be in the middle and it’s so much fun doing it that you sometimes would like to have 2 turns And since we were in China at that time, we just had a simple celebration with our “family” away from home – Auntie Imee, Auntie Cathy and Uncle Jon. Auntie Cindy wasn’t able to come so we missed her that night. These friends have been … Continue reading →

It’s that 5-10 minutes a day that’s dedicated to tickling each other. I tickle you and you get to tickle me as well… It’s so much fun! There are even times that you’re the ones who initiate the tickling and tell me, “MAMA, TICKLE TIME!” This is enough proof that you love it as much as I do Usually, we tickle the neck, the “kili-kili” and ears. You’re both very ticklish so as long as you’re already laughing, almost anywhere I touch you, you giggle, scream and burst in laughter. No matter what the day brings, I always make sure we have our tickle time before we hug and kiss goodnight. So here you … Continue reading →

Dear Meimei, This is my first time to join PINK FRIDAYs and for my 1st entry, I’m posting your pictorial when you turned 2 years old… I would want to expose you to other colors, specifically purple (as it is my favorite color), but then, most baby girl stuff given to you and on sale are all in PINK! So right now, your favorite color is also pink Whatever color you like is fine with me because I think as long as you wear that pretty smile on your face, you’ll always look beautiful sweetypie Together with this pink dress, you also had green bunny costume and your floral dress for our family picture. But since it’s PINK FRIDAY entry, I’ll just post you in your pink dress in this letter. You look lovely my dear. Your papa and I started this traditional studio pictorial when your ahia turned 2 … Continue reading →

Dear Meimei, Yippe! You’re officially in the “tiny tot” age! And what does that mean? Some people describe it as a terrible two stage, and there’s even a website labeled terribletwos! But that’s not how I look at you sweety pie. Even with your ahia, I can honestly say he was never terrible as what those websites declare. It was even a big time for him to adjust because we moved to China when he was 23 months… yet in spite the new environment, your papa and I didn’t have problems with him. Yes we did have difficult times, but hey, even us adults have those days we don’t feel good and we just want to be ourselves or even do “not so nice things”, but that doesn’t mean we’re TERRIBLE… So when you become a mom someday, never label your kids terrible two ok? It’s a matter of perspective … Continue reading →

But I think he’s giving this to you on your birthday ( I think ). But it depends if I’m letting it go. Hmmm… a few hugs and kisses might just convince me. Oh, for your information, you got banned from using this since November 2010 due to a very expensive mistake that you committed. Wanna know what & how much? Ok then read on. You and papa have this game called Fishes. In that game you need to buy more fish, corals, pearls & others. However, those are expensive stuffs so papa didn’t buy any. For example the pearls cost $99, some fish cost $9.99 and likewise for the corals. Papa didn’t buy any of those because he thought it was expensive. But guess what?! You did!!! You purchased a total of $206!!! Of pearls, fish and other stuff to decorate your ocean!!! … Continue reading →

Temperature outside is about 10 degrees but I let you wear the jacket that auntie Lily gave you (it’s very warm) because tonight, the temperature might drop to 3 degrees. You were coughing a bit and I guess your body’s reacting to the changing season – from Autumn to Winter. As usual, you have your juice with Super C in your bag. Sadly I didn’t take videos of him reciting them because at that time, I thought it was normal for kids to know their alphabets and numbers at that age He was also able to say or call out the people at home including our staffs. At 14 months, I was able to find a video of EJ saying, “SHOOT THAT BALL”. When my husband and I went on our trip to laguna last June, I saw the “Your Baby Can Read” promotional video in one of the cable stations there. We stayed in Bacolod for over a year and Joey comes home almost every 2 months then to be with us. But last July the kids and I moved to China and be with their dad. Joey’s been “courting” Meimei. He did a wonderful job the past months building that relationship with Meimei, however, her attachment to me is so strong and she would usually cling to me more. When yaya Angel, our nanny went back to Bacolod, Joey was able to spend more time with Meimei like giving … Continue reading →

Last week my daughter had diarrhea and it lasted for several days. It started Sunday afternoon but got really worse at night until Tuesday morning so we went to the hospital to have her checked. When the doctor saw her watery stool advised me to have her admitted for IV to prevent her from getting dehydrated, even if the stool test showed there wasn’t any bacteria. Of course I declined and she made me sign a waiver that says I refused her wise counsel for hospitalization, to make sure they won’t be blamed if something happens to Meimei. She gave us oral medication instead. The doctor also mentioned that during this seasons, which is Autumn, it’s very common for children to have diarrhea and it might be dangerous if it won’t stop. “So what if it’s Autumn? What made diarrhea so common this season?”, I thought. When we got home I asked Mr. Google and here’s the answer: AUTUMN … Continue reading →

Dear Meimei, In my Facebook profile my status was: “ Thank you Lord for 18 wonderful and blessed months…” Yes my little one, you’re 18 months old today and the past months have truly been wonderful and full of God’s blessings. They weren’t perfect months but in every difficulty or mishaps, God has always shown HIS favor and HE has never left us. Allow me to share with you what took place today: Our day started as the usual weekend – woke up late because we slept late the other night. Had crab and shrimp for lunch (for the three of us) and yours were broccoli and pork After lunch you asked for “Titi” (mama’s milk) and of course, fell asleep after that… Both of us did actually. Your papa and ahia however spent the whole afternoon cleaning the aquarium as your papa wanted to give you FISHY for your gift! … Continue reading →

Dear Elisha, The first time we went to China was when you were 23 months and by the time you reached 2 years old, you were already in school. Kid Castle was your very first school which taught English to local Chinese kids. I put you there so that you can adjust to a Chinese school environment and yet when you go looking for “Mama” in English, your teachers can attend to you because they understand you. You were only there for the summer and when September 2007 came, Chinese school year opened and you were enrolled in our village’s kindergarten, Jindu Kindergarted. In both schools, you cried very hard each time I left you with your teachers for the first few weeks. I cried too son. It was heart breaking for me to leave you in your teacher’s care, however, it was something that needed to be done. Sometimes I would watch you from … Continue reading →

Dear Elisha, For my birthday letter for you, I want to share with you how you came into this world… Ooops, not really the details of HOW you were made, but just a background of the things that took place before, during and after your birth. So read on ok? It was in the year 2002 when in my prayer time a little voice whispered to me that my first born will be a boy and that his name shall be ELISHA JOEY. Elisha is a prophet in the Old Testament and his name also signifies double portion anointing. Joey is obviously from your papa’s name. So in short, your name means double portion of your papa, but of course, with a touch of me When your pa and I got married in 2003, we decided to have a baby after we have taken some time to enjoy our being couple … Continue reading →

It was a one truly fine day spent with both the Lo’s and the Boyero’s… It was Meimei’s birthday last April 16 but we had it celebrated at Palmas Del Mar today mainly because for my 2 kids (EJ and Meimei), swimming seem to be the love of their lives! Whenever they see a swimming pool, the first thing that comes to their minds is, DIVE DIVE DIVE and DIVE! Even if it’s just in the pictures or videos. I decided to have a family pool party so everyone can just enjoy and exercise Not everybody swam but I appreciate the fact that those who didn’t stayed until those who did finished up… I thought that after the picture taking in the function room and at the pool area, those who didn’t swim would go back home. But I was surprised to see the dry group waiting for the wet … Continue reading →

Dear Meimei, A year ago, April 16, 2009 at 4:44pm I heard your very first cry… I welcomed you to this world by saying these words the very first time I saw you: KAY JOEY GYAPUN ILONG!!! (Still Joey’s Nose!!!) :) When you’re old enough to read this, just ask me or your papa WHY those where my first words when I saw you for the very first time! (ahihihihi) A few hours later your tita Doc Tett went inside my room and told me that you were healthy except for a small problem… that you had imperforate anus. A lot of my friends asked me what was my first reaction and probably you’ll also wonder when you grow up… I didn’t cry nor did I panic. All I asked was, “So what’s the solution?” Tita Doc then discussed words like you may need colostomy and many other things which … Continue reading →

Dear Elisha, I am writing this letter with tears in my eyes because as I look at you while you’re sound asleep, I realize that you are still a “baby”, but sometimes, I forget that and expect you to act like an adult. You’re only 4 years old and 8 months to be exact and even if at times you DO talk like a grown up, you’re still just a little boy who wants to run and play… Today you received several awards namely: GOLD in Chinese with Best in Math, Best in Language, Best in Social Studies and Best in Bible. SILVER in English with Best in English award. In the past, it was your A-ma who gave you your Chinese ribbons and I gave your English ribbons. But today it was I and Angkong who were there… As I looked at you on stage, I saw not really much of the … Continue reading →
